TORTOISE CRACKED SHELL/// (NIGERIAN FOLK TALE)

All birds went for a feast in the sky and Tortoise wanted to go along, so he borrowed a feather each from all so it could fly there.

Based on the feast, they all chose a nickname, which for tortoise he chose “all of you”.

When food was served at each point of the feast, and the host said “for all of you”, the tortoise reminded the birds of his nickname. So it succeeded in eating all.
When the feast was over, all birds demanded their feathers from it, therefore leaving him bare with none to fly back. The tortoise begged the last bird remaining to help tell its wife to bring out all soft materials in their house so he could jump down. The bird agreed to do so.

On reaching the house, the bird told the wife that tortoise had demanded that she brought out all hard materials in the house.

Watching from above and seeing his wife going in and coming out, it assumed that the materials were all soft. Ready and set, the tortoise jumped all the way from the sky with extra food with it hoping to land on soft materials…..well you can guess the rest
